From the very beginning we are aware, even as a tiny embryo,
even before the central nervous system is formed. It is as if every
cell in the body can remember our whole story.
How we begin life and how our newly discovered presence is received affects us deeply.
PRIMARY PERCEPTION is a cellular and whole body awareness that is present throughout development. It does not depend on the brain and central nervous system.
RESPIRATION is present as cellular breathing, in the flow
of cell fluids even in the first cells of conception. Later it is
expressed throughout the whole body as a
subtle life pulse. It has a tide like movement which seems to arise
the core of the body, in the fluids surrounding the brain and spinal
cord. This is the craniosacral rhythm.
